The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His Love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joys. ~Zephaniah 3:17~

Redeemed

While I enjoy music, I seldom listen to it.  I have hearing loss and find it difficult to hear conversation, people on the phone etc if music is playing or a TV is on, etc.  That being said, it is understandable that I do not know the names of most artists.

When the man who offices with us asked me if I had heard Big Daddy Weave's song, "Redeemed", I had to confess that I had never heard of the artist or the song.  He told me to go on YouTube and listen to him but be sure to watch the one with lyrics.  He started tearing up so I knew it had to be special.

I won't go into my past, but there are times I find myself shackled to it, through the relationships with various family members, including my son.  I need to remember, I have been set free.  I need to walk in that freedom.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFC76Z_2oC4

BIG DADDY WEAVE LYRICS

"Redeemed"

Seems like all I could see was the struggle
Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past
Bound up in shackles of all my failures
Wondering how long is this gonna last
Then You look at this prisoner and say to me "son
Stop fighting a fight it's already been won"

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be
I am redeemed, I'm redeemed

All my life I have been called unworthy
Named by the voice of my shame and regret
But when I hear You whisper, "Child lift up your head"
I remember, oh God, You're not done with me yet

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be

Because I don't have to be the old man inside of me
'Cause his day is long dead and gone
Because I've got a new name, a new life, I'm not the same
And a hope that will carry me home

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, 'cause I'm not who I used to be

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe every stain, yeah, I'm not who I used to be
Oh, God, I'm not who I used to be
Jesus, I'm not who I used to be
'Cause I am redeemed
Thank God, redeemed
